Join us this Saturday at Wabi Sabi Japan Living for a Japanese Cooking Demo featuring the art of toban-yaki.
Gather with us this Saturday, Septemer 19th at 5:30 PM as we explore toban-yaki, a traditional Japanese style of cooking on a ceramic grill plate—and a technique featured on menus at Nobu restaurants around the world.
We’ll demonstrate how a toban grill can be used to cook beef, seafood, vegetables, mushrooms, and more while developing rich, savory flavors. You’ll learn how the ceramic plate heats, retains heat, and moves easily from cooking to serving at the table.
Popularized internationally through restaurants such as Nobu, toban-yaki is surprisingly approachable at home. We’ll show you how to use this versatile piece of Japanese cookware to create a flavorful dish using simple ingredients and techniques.
