Kokeshi dolls have been crafted in Japan for more than 150 years. These children's toys—and later popular souvenirs—are handmade from wood with some delicate painted details. Their most recognized feature is a lack of arms and legs. 

These illustrations were chosen to enhance the creative work of origami artists and paper crafters.
